RCCO for the first time at the IAA in Frankfurt
05.09.2019 Even after 29 years there are still premieres: on September 11, a championship race of the “big small” electric racing series RCCO will take place for the first time at the IAA in Frankfurt. The scene of #GPFrankfurt is the booth of the Automobilclub von Deutschland in hall 4.0. The AvD was an obstetrician for the RCCO at the end of 1990, which had its roots in the editorial rooms of former German special interest magazine “rallye racing” and today is the most popular and longest-running slot car racing series.
Since 2016, the RCCO is racing electric concept cars that were specially designed for the “big small” racing series – currently from ABT, Audi, KTM, Lamborghini, Schaeffler and Volkswagen. For the 2020 season, additional cars and an innovative chassis are planned.
Under the motto #VisionRCCO, the RCCO accompanies the future of mobility as a networking platform and has been providing fun and enjoyment of electric mobility for almost 30 years. The first appearance at the IAA fits perfectly with the new motto of the fair "driving tomorrow".
The RCCO race will take place on Wednesday afternoon from 2:30 pm. The finale is scheduled for approximately 5:45 pm, will be broadcast live on the RCCO Facebook page with Eurosport Formula E commentator Oliver Sittler as a presenter.
During the first week of the IAA, visitors to the show will also be able to prove their talent themselves on the three-lane digital Slotfire race track at the AvD stand.
